On February 4th the first kids of the year came, and on June 4th, the last doe kidded! 2008 was a very successful year here at Good Goats. Thanks to all who gave our kids great homes! All the kids were beautiful and healthy, and all the ones that were available, are sold! We had 25 Mini Nubian kids born - 9 does and 16 bucks (with the Boers [over at www.desert-ranch.com], there's 28 total, 3 boer/cross kids). See below for more info about the kids and for pictures!

The last kid born! Hug kidded to an adorable, Boer/Nubian/Nigerian, buckling on June 4th. Both momma and baby are doing wonderful! We are going to wether the buckling and hopefully train him to pull a cart. Pics will be up soon, Lord willing!

On May 30th, LaWanda kidded to beautiful triplets - two bucklings and one doeling. All of them are very colorful and have very, very nice pendulous ears. Their sire is PawPawNin Junior Mint. The two bucklings will be going to a wonderful home as wethers, and the doeling will be going to New Mexico.

Vanilla kidded to one big buckling on May 14th. He is very colorful, and calm, and handsome ;). His sire is Junior Mint. This beautiful lil guy is going as a wether go a great home here in Southern California.

Whitney kidded on May 12th to triplet bucklings, all of them are absolutely colorful and just adorable! Two of them are blue eyed, and one is polled. Their sire is Quiet Wyatt, and all three of these guys should make great sires. One of them is going along with a doe, and the others as herd sires to great homes!

On April 14th, Doris kidded to beautiful triplets - a doeling and two bucklings. They all have great ears and type, and are 75% Nubian/25% Nigerian Dwarf. Their sire is Good Goats Mr. Goodbar (Moondoggie). They are first generation kids. The black buckling will be going to a great home in Oklahoma, and his new name is Frosted Dream Bar. The doeling is going to Arizona and the brown bucklin went to a home here in S. California.

Verona kidded to a buckling and doeling on April 3rd. Both of the kids are extremely colorful and healthy, and nice typed. They have great ears. Their sire is PawPawNin Junior Mint and they are second generation kids. The doeling's name is Buttermint and she is going to someone right here by us, the buckling went to a great home in Nevada.

On April 1st, Allie kidded to twins, a buckling and doeling. Sadly, Allie passed away due to kidding complicatons a few days later (she is missed!). But thankfully she gave us two beautiful kids, especially the doeling! Their sire is Good Goats Mr. Goodbar. The buckling is buckskin colored, and so is the doeling but she has white all over her face and white on her body - very unique and cute! They weighed in at 7 lbs and are drinking their bottles down like nothing ;). These are first generation kids. We are keeping the doeling - her name is Maple Nut. The buckling went to a great home in Nevada!

On March 31st, Bridget kidded to one polled, 4 1/2 pound doeling. She is a third generation kid. She has very nice type, and is black and white. Her sire is Quiet Wyatt. We are keeping her and her name is Amarelli Chicci :). . . "Chicci" for short.

Sunspot kidded on March 7th to twin bucklings. Both are big and healthy, weighing in at 7 and 8 lbs. They have wonderful Roman noses and great ears. Their sire is PawPawNin Junior Mint and they are first generation minis. They are both beautifully tri-colored. We are keeping (retaining) one of them, and his name is Fernando (more info on the bucks page), and the other went to a home here in S. California.

On February 26th, Daisy kidded to triplets, one doeling and two bucklings. All of them are healthy and doing good. The bucklings were about 4 1/2 and 3 1/2 lbs, and then the doeling was about 4 lbs. Their sire is PawPawNin Quiet Wyatt. The two bucklings are polled, and the doeling is not. The one in the middle of the picture below is the doeling, the one on the far left is the 3 1/2 lb buckling, and the one on the far right is the 4 1/2 lb buckling. They have all found good homes, one buckling as a breeder in S. California, the other as a pet wether, and the doeling is going to Oklahoma.

Prissy kidded to twins, a buck and doe, on February 9th. Their sire is PawPawNin Quiet Wyatt. Both of them are adorable and very healthy. The buckling is polled. They are being bottle fed. The doeling (at the right) is brown with white ears, nose and has a white spot on her head. . . looks a lot like her dam :)! The buckling (at the left) is very colorful, black with white swirls with some brown on his legs and face.
*The doeling went to a great home along with a wether. The buckling is going as a herd sire to a herd in Oklahoma!

Baby kidded to a huge, 10 lb Boer/Nubian buckling on Thursday, the 7th of February. The sire is Cerv J.K. Wrangler - you can see him here. The buckling is white with some dark brown spots on his head. He is being bottle fed and is very friendly, and would make a great show wether.
*This big guy went to a great home right down the road!

Milky Way kidded to twins, a buckling and doeling, on February 4th. Both of them are extremely nice typed, with wonderful ears and lots of color. Their sire is PawPawNin Junior Mint. They are on the bottle and are doing great. In the pics below, the buckling is on the left and the doeling is on the right.
*We are retaining the doeling, her name is Lotsa Dots (we call her "Dots"), and the buckling is now a Wether and sold as a pet.
